The final elevation gain was 8,839 meters (29,000 feet). Exeptionally long and dangerous climbs and descents were part of the journey.Some of these hazards were caused by stone paths and roots on the road that obstructed and hindered the roadway. Similarly, the deep ravines along the edge of the road made the stages of the road problematic.
